Help Kids Get Ready for School
Donate or Collect School Supplies
The Pursuit is teaming up with Family Central to show love to families in south Broward. Help get students ready to go back to school buy helping to collect much-needed school supplies. Volunteers are needed to collect donations outside Wal-Mart or your workplace and to distribute flyers in neighborhoods to inform people about the collection.
1. Collect Supplies at Wal Mart
On Friday and Saturday, August 1 and 2, The Pursuit will collect school supply donations from shoppers at Wal Mart on Pines and 185th. We need friends to volunteer for two hour shifts at the table, handing out lists of needed supplies as people enter the store, then collecting the supplies as they exit.
Volunteers are needed to work:
- Friday, August 1: 2 to 4 p.m. or 4 to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, August 2: 10 a.m. to Noon or Noon to 2 p.m.
2. Collect Supplies at Work
Take a list of needed supplies to work. Have co-workers and customers donate supplies, then bring them to Celebration Service by Sunday August 3. Your company can be listed as an official school supply drop off location along with Wal Mart. Pick up can be arranged if needed.
3. Neighborhood Walk – Spread the News
A few days prior to collection day, we'll take flyers throughout local neighborhoods, encouraging people to shop and donate supplies. Volunteers are needed to walk through neighborhoods and leave the flyers at doors and mailbox flags.

- Tuesday, July 29: 6 to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, July 30: 6 to 8 p.m.
